1,3 Butadiene, also known as Biethylene, Erythrene, or Vinylethylene, is a flammable, colorless gas at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. 1, 3 Butadiene has a slightly aromatic odor and is a noncorrosive material. 1,3 Butadiene is mildly irritating to the mucous membranes and can also function as an anesthetic. Large concentrations will act as an asphyxiant.
