1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane, also known as Halocarbon-134A, is a colorless, nonflammable, liquefied gas with slight ethereal odor. Vapors may irritate the skin and liquid tetrafluoroethane may cause frostbite; harmful amounts may be absorbed if skin contact is prolonged or widespread.At high concentrations, the gas may cause dizziness, nausea, vomiting, disorientation, confusion, incoordination, and narcosis. Very high concentrations may cause suffocation. Lack of oxygen can kill.
