Octafluoropropane, also known as Halocarbon-218, is colorless gas has a faintly sweet odor under ambient conditions. Liquid Octafluoropropane may cause frostbite. If skin contact is prolonged or widespread, harmful amounts may be absorbed by the skin. At high concentrations, the gas may cause dizziness, nausea, vomiting, disorientation, confusion, incoordination, and narcosis. Very high concentrations may cause suffocation. Lack of oxygen can kill.
